Brazilian skateboarding star Bob Burnquist spends much of his time in the air, what with his flying of aerobatic tailwheel airplanes and being a certified helicopter pilot. So it is probably not too surprising that on Thursday night at X Games Foz in Brazil that he became the first three-peat champion of Skateboard Big Air.
By winning gold in front of a home-country crowd, Burnquist also tied Shaun White for the second-most medals in X Games history with 23, just behind BMXer Dave Mirra, who has 24.
Here’s a look at Burnquist and his incredible lien air 720, and the 20-foot indy 360 landed with just a few minutes left on the clock that earned him victory.

  1. Really cool moves! Makes you think Burnquist and his skateboard is attached to one another.

  2. Our son decided on a skateboard design for his Pinewood Derby car this year. Which is appropriate, considering how much he's into skateboarding at the moment. Here are a couple of shots of the finished car, which he named "Sk8r". He placed 3rd in his Cub Scout den and also 3rd place for best of show in his den. What do you think? this content
